John, my identity and my religion play an integral role in why I do the work that I do.
An awful hate crime fueled by Islamophobia claimed the lives of my three best friends, leaving me shattered and heartbroken.
With the encouragement of their families, I continued their legacy by getting involved in my community, leading with compassion and love.
That’s why I ran for County Commissioner in 2020, to serve my community in honor of my friends, and fight to dismantle the barriers stacked against Muslims like myself.
But in all honesty, the only way I can continue this fight and win re-election is if I have the grassroots support from people like you. Running a campaign isn’t easy, so I really need your investment today if I'm going to cross the finish line strong.
John, I'm running for all of the underrepresented Muslims denied a seat at the table. Can you please donate $27 to help me raise $2,040 to fuel my re-election campaign, so I can be the voice that will break down every institutional barrier stacked against my community? >>
John, I don’t let the rampant attacks and blatant Islamophobic comments against my identity discourage me from using my voice. If I did that, they’d win.
Instead, I turn this anger into motivation to fight for my community, because they deserve a front seat in our democracy. I know if we work together, we can dismantle the barriers stacked so high against Muslim candidates like myself as I run for re-election.
But to do that, I need your grassroots support to power my campaign through whatever Islamophic attacks that come my way.
Can you please donate $27 to power my campaign to keep my seat at the table and be the representative my Muslim community deserves? >>
Counting on you,
Nida Allam
