When Special Prosecutor Jack Smith brought conspiracy charges against Donald Trump this week, he supported his allegations with 45 pages of sworn testimony and verified electronic communications. 

One of the more jarring realities of the two months between Election Day in November 2020 and January 6th 2021, is the stream of lies and falsehoods from Trump and his unhinged acolytes. They lied constantly, in an aggressive, nationwide effort to steal an American presidential election. In the violent final stages of this effort, 5 people died.

Here’s what MAGA fanatic Lauren Boebert had to say about it:

Maybe we've become accustomed to seeing Trump indicted because...he committed so many crimes? Just an idea.

When former D.C. Metro and Capitol Police officers heard about congressional Republicans’ response to the indictment, one said “I saw the Trump-fueled MAGA attack before my eyes. It was calculated, premeditated, and malicious. It disgusts me that House Republicans are heinously coming to the defense of Trump’s criminal behavior while putting up the foundation of our democracy as collateral.”

We will never understand why Lauren Boebert is the way she is, why she would use her position to promote debunked ideas that undermine our democracy and cause division instead of ever simply attempting to get something done for the people of Colorado.

We can’t understand Lauren Boebert, but we can get rid of her.

Boebert held onto her seat last year by only 546 votes, and Democratic turnout will be even stronger next year—if we do the work.
