Embattled U.S. Rep. George Santos Pitched Crypto Deal to Donor

George Santos tried to broker a cryptocurrency transaction with a political donor while running for Congress in 2020, according to a New York Times report.

While attempting to conceal his involvement, Santos teamed up with GOP supporters to pitch a crypto investment scheme to a loyal donor, who was skeptical and likened it to a “Nigerian prince” email scam designed to lure unwitting victims into transferring money.

The bizarre deal highlights how Santos unethically intermingled political relationships and business opportunities as a candidate, to say nothing of the brazen lies and misrepresentations he made on the campaign trail.

Santos should resign in shame. But he won’t, so he must be defeated at the ballot box.
