Friends,
If you know anything about Jim, it’s that he loves Connecticut and really loves to get outside -- especially hiking here in CT-04.
Jim works hard in Congress every day to deliver for Connecticut and fight for the issues most important to our communities in CT-04. Can you chip in right now so he can keep up the fight and continue delivering for Connecticut?
With just a few weeks of summer left we thought we’d ask Jim what his top five hikes in CT-04 are.
Here’s his top 5 list:
The Norwalk Valley River Trail (Norwalk, Wilton, Ridgefield, Danbury)
The NVRT is the longest trail in Fairfield County, stretching from Norwalk to Wilton, Ridgefield, and Danbury. You can hike, ride, or walk the trail with friends, family, kids, and dogs.
Mianus River Park (Stamford)
Mianus River Park is made up of three contiguous areas – the Mianus River Park, State Park, and Natural Park. There’s plenty of trails, wetlands and rivers, bridges and more.
Weir Farm (Wilton)
Weir Farm is a National Historical Park with acres of hiking trails, woods, waterways, fields, and a visitor center with exhibits, art in the park, and more. A great spot for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages!
Lake Mohegan Loop (Fairfield)
Lake Mohegan has plenty of options for different environments to walk through with friends, family, and dogs. Take a minute to enjoy this beautiful freshwater lake and the awesome views – you can go for a swim, too!
Webb Mountain (Monroe)
Webb Mountain has versatile, longer hikes good for adults and kids looking for a bit of a challenge in some places, but the view pays off. Pro tip: Jim said be sure to bring a water bottle.
Jim doesn’t get many breaks from work, but when he does, he spends it here in CT-04. Plus, what’s better than winding down a day, or starting one enjoying the natural beauty and exercise CT has to offer?!
Have fun, be safe, and don’t forget to wear sunscreen!
