Friend, if Congress goes through with these cuts, hundreds of thousands of families will face the consequences.
The latest proposal would prevent 80,000 children from accessing Head Start programs — ripping a critical safety net from kids in low-income communities. Without learning opportunities from birth to age 5, they’d start school at a big disadvantage.
Other programs would be eliminated entirely, like ones that improve and expand preschool and help parents afford child care while attending college.
So please, Friend, send a message: Budget cuts shouldn’t compromise kids’ futures.
