My name is Monique Alcala, and I’m proud to be the Executive Director of your Texas Democratic Party. I’m a born-and-raised Texan bringing over a decade of political, nonprofit, and government experience to the Party — including high-profile roles as a Congressional aide, on the Biden for President campaign in 2020, and most recently as the Southwest Regional Director for EMILY’s List. I’m also the first woman of color to lead the Texas Democratic Party. Representation is important to our Party, and I firmly believe that diversity is the strength of our Party. I’m honored to be the first, and will give all I have to ensure I’m not the last.

Friend, our state — my home — cannot continue on this path of failed extremist Texas Republican leadership. We have the power to change course, to change our state, and to change lives. In preparation for 2024, our team is gearing up — right now — to expand our nationally recognized Voter Protection team, recruit and train strong Democratic candidates, and use every tool in our toolbox to spread our message far and wide.
