Hi there -- 7 months ago, the House passed the Raise the Wage Act. It would be the first increase in the national minimum wage since 2009(!), but the Senate is currently refusing to act.
56 million workers in the 21 states that haven't raised the minimum wage on their own make only $7.25 an hour. And, thanks to inflation, that $7.25 is worth 17% LESS than it was in 2009.
According to the Congressional Budget Office, raising the wage would lift 1.3 million Americans out of poverty, including 600,000 children.
We can't let this opportunity go by.
If you believe the Senate needs to act, please join us and other progressive Democrats across the country in demanding the Senate pass this bill. We need 50,000 signatures -- will you be part of the movement? >> [link removed]
