A Message from Executive Director John D. Winnett:
[link removed]

Dear John,

For 47 years, SACNAS has been at the forefront of the STEM diversity movement. Every movement has a history that must be preserved so future leaders can study its challenges and successes as they build their own movements for change.

In 2013, SACNAS was honored to partner with the UCLA Chicanos Studies Research Center ([link removed]) (CSRC) to create the SACNAS Archive. (You can watch the opening ceremony here ([link removed]) .) The archive holds notes and records from the earliest SACNAS meetings, all of our publications from inception, hours of video footage, and thousands of photographs.

SACNAS members are welcome to submit materials directly to the archives!
What can be submitted?
Academic and personal SACNAS related materials (SACNAS members pictures, documents, etc.) The center also collects people’s 3-D objects like awards.

There is no restriction on content type unless it’s something that the CSRC can’t properly preserve (e.g. oil paintings/fine arts work). In which case, where it should go (another institution, museum or back to the original creator), is decided on a case-by-case basis, and they always involve the donor.

If you would like to add personal materials not related to SACNAS, then you can reach out to the CSRC to see if they will take it as a separate collection.

How do I submit?
Please contact the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center at (310) 825-2363 or via email at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) to obtain the necessary donor forms that must be completed before donations are sent.
Thank you for working with us to preserve SACNAS history for generations to come.

In partnership,
John D. Winnett

John D. Winnett
SACNAS Executive Director
