Dear Friend,
Last year we won a big victory in the campaign to repair the harms of marijuana prohibition.
President Biden announced that he would pardon all simple federal marijuana possession charges, freeing thousands of people from some of the burdens of a federal drug conviction.
Friend, we’ve made so much progress over the past few years — from decriminalizing drugs and investing in health services in Oregon, to overdose prevention centers in New York, and more!
But we can’t rest on our laurels. This year we could transform our nation’s drug policy at the federal level with the passage of two key pieces of legislation — and we need help from people like you.

The RESTORE Act would end a long-standing injustice: the lifetime ban on Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, also known as food stamps, for people with felony drug convictions.
And the Drug Policy Reform Act would transform our nation’s drug policy by decriminalizing drug possession and reinvesting in health-based supports for people suffering from problematic drug use.
The RESTORE Act has already been introduced to Congress. And the Drug Policy Reform Act is expected to follow soon— both are incredibly important. Will you help ensure they become law?
We need your help! Please join the Drug Policy Alliance today to push for progress like the RESTORE Act, the Drug Policy Reform Act, and other steps necessary to end the drug war and undo its harms.
