On Monday, the Biden Administration announced that it will keep Space Command in Colorado. Here’s why this is so important.
Just before Trump left office, he overruled the Air Force Generals and announced his plan to move Space Command from Colorado to Alabama.
Trump made clear he was playing political games, rewarding a state that voted for him and punishing a state that didn’t.
We were not elected to play games with our national security and military readiness.
That’s why I’ve spent the last two and a half years fighting to ensure that Space Command’s permanent location would be decided based on national security priorities, not politics. And this week, that work came to fruition – Space Command will remain, as it should, in Colorado.
Our state has long been a leader in the aerospace industry and with Space Command here for good, we will continue to lead the United States in space for generations to come.
