John Parke Chairman Republican Party of Arkansas   BUY TICKETS TODAY!     About Speaker Kevin McCarthy: Kevin McCarthy is the 55th Speaker of the United States House of Representatives. He is currently in his ninth House term, serving as U.S. Representative of California’s 20th District. The grandson of a cattle rancher and the son of a firefighter, Kevin grew up in a working-class family in Bakersfield. At the age of 21, Kevin started his own small business, Kevin O’s Deli. As he worked hard, hired employees, and enjoyed success in his community, he soon learned—as all small business owners do—margins are thin, hours are long, and government regulations are obstacles, not aids, to success. He went onto sell his business, enabling him to complete his college education and pursue a career in public service. In 2002, Kevin was elected to represent the 32nd Assembly District in the California State Assembly. As a freshman legislator, he was elected unanimously by his colleagues to serve as the Assembly Republican Leader, becoming the first freshman legislator to assume the top post. In 2006, he was elected to Congress and appointed Chief Deputy Whip before being elected as House Majority Whip in 2010. In 2014, he was elected Majority Leader in the House. In 2018, Kevin was elected House Republican Leader, which he served before being elected Speaker of the House in January 2023. In 2022, Kevin and his Republican colleagues released the “Commitment to America,” a comprehensive legislative plan that offers a new direction to get America back on track after two years of failing national policies through one-party Democrat rule. These priorities include an economy that is strong, a nation that is safe, a future that is built on freedom, and a government that is accountable. Speaker McCarthy was born in Bakersfield, California and has a master’s degree in business administration from California State University, Bakersfield. McCarthy and his wife, Judy, have two children, Connor and Meghan, and reside in Bakersfield. ###     The Honorable Kevin McCarthy is a special guest at this event. His appearance is not a solicitation of funds.   Republican Party of Arkansas | 1201 W. 6th St, Little Rock, AR 72201 Unsubscribe [email protected] Update Profile | Constant Contact Data Notice Sent by [email protected] powered by Try email marketing for free today!
