The long, lazy summer lull is quickly giving way to the fall campaign season. We hope you're ready. It's a busy month ahead.
AYD is finalizing our campaign plan, so keep an eye out for that. We'll be canvassing and phonebanking for candidates in Arlington and all across Virginia.
Quick reminder that this Saturday, August 5th is our annual AYD Membership BBQ [[link removed]] from 6-9pm. The following day on Sunday, August 6th from 5-7pm is the ArlDems County Board Candidate Unity Fundraiser. [[link removed]] We hope you can make it out.
Later this month on August 23rd, 6:30pm (location TBA), we will be holding special elections to fill the current vacancies on the AYD Executive Board. We are searching candidates for Vice President and Community Service Director. If you are interested in applying for either of these positions, the deadline is Friday, August 18th at 11:59pm . Join us for our annual AYD Membership BBQ on Saturday, August 5th from 6-9pm. We’ll have food, beverages*, games, a photo booth and more! We hope to see old friends, current friends, and new ones as we welcome back AYD alumni, current members, and anyone that wants to join. Location will be given upon RSVP!
Tickets are $30 for non-dues paying AYDs (35 & under), FREE for dues paying members (and dues are ONLY $25 for the whole year), $15 for neighboring YDs, and $35 for guests 36+.

Arlington County Fair - Arlington Democrats & AYD Booth [[link removed]]
Get ready for the upcoming Arlington County Fair, scheduled from August 18th to 20th at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center. This highly anticipated event is one of the largest free gatherings on the East Coast, drawing thousands of visitors from Arlington, Northern Virginia, and the DC Metro region. Attendees can look forward to a range of attractions, including competitive exhibits, midway rides and games, entertainment, vendors, and more.
Like in past years, the Arlington Democrats will be hosting a booth along with the Arlington Young Dems at the fair. To make this event a resounding success, we are seeking volunteers for various tasks. We need help with setting up on the 18th, staffing the booth on the 18th, 19th, and 20th, and breaking down and cleaning up on the 20th. Your participation is essential in ensuring the success of this event, and any amount of time you can spare would be immensely appreciated.
