John,
You may have seen the recent news: Donald Trump has been indicted on four separate criminal counts for his attempt to overturn the 2020 election. This is a positive first step toward justice and accountability for the anti-American coup that Trump and his minions planned and attempted that led to the violent riot at the U.S. Capitol.
One intriguing detail from the latest indictment (it’s starting to become difficult to keep track of them all…) is the six unnamed co-conspirators listed for playing central roles in the conspiracy.
Facts of the indictment show that dozens of Members of Congress were contacted by Trump and his co-conspirators in a desperate frenzy to block Congress’ ceremonial certification of the votes. We already know that Jim Jordan coordinated with Trump’s team and led White House strategy sessions around the conspiracy to defraud the people of free and fair election results. Jordan clearly has something to hide, which is why he defied a lawful subpoena from the January 6th Committee.
So the $64,000 question is this: What happens when the unnamed co-conspirators flip on Trump to save themselves? Who else will be implicated—perhaps even indicted—for their role in the illegal coup attempt and insurrection?
