Hey Friend,

Movies allow us to enter a world beyond where we currently exist and to fight for a better one.

Black, brown, and Indigenous communities have rich—but often lesser known—histories of creating our own media to mobilize our communities in the face of violence and oppression.

This week, Team #MediaJustice is in Philly sponsoring the Black Star Film Festival, happening August 2-6, lifting up stories that represent our movement for justice, and spotlight our fight to be the tellers of our own stories.
