According to a new report, “Climate Change and the American Diet,”
by Earth Day Network and Yale, Americans are open to plant-based
diets—but they don’t know where to start. In short, people don’t have
the information to change their eating habits, meaning communicators
have a huge opportunity to educate about our food’s carbon
footprint.

For this year’s International Day of Women and Girls in Science,
we’re highlighting 12 women and girls of color from all over the
world—whether it’s through research or activism, these women have
dedicated their lives and careers to fighting climate change.

A team of researchers and artists created an illustrated tribute to
the most endangered plant in every U.S. state, celebrating plants on
the brink of extinction and raising awareness through visualization.
It is a work both joyful and troubling for the fragile status of these
plants.

Demonstrators from Young Evangelicals for Climate Action gathered
outside the National Prayer Breakfast. Standing in a steady, chilly
rain on the sidewalk, the youth read an open letter on climate change,
signed by hundreds of young evangelicals and addressed to attendees of
the breakfast.
