Last week, I wrote to you about Virginia Democrats’ new innovative early-voting campaign, the Majority Project.

This campaign has been a long time coming. And when I say a long time coming, I don’t mean we’ve been planning this for just a few months. Our efforts to get people to sign up for early voting began last year, as soon as the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade . When we saw thousands of Virginians sign up to become permanent absentee voters so they’d automatically get a mail-in ballot every year, we knew we had to capitalize on this momentum.

Thus, the Majority Project was born. And frankly, I can’t overstate how massive this effort is – it’s truly an all hands on deck situation. And boy oh boy, do we have a pretty incredible team, with over 100 dedicated paid organizers throughout the Commonwealth. We’re all ready to turn Virginia blue this November, but we need your help. What we’re really trying to accomplish with the Majority Project is to make sure that every single person in Virginia has the information that they need to vote early. And we want to be sure that voters understand exactly how detrimental a Republican controlled General Assembly would be, especially when it comes to our reproductive rights and gun violence prevention.

To make this happen, we’re transforming our ground game. While we continue to knock on doors and canvas throughout the state, we’re also utilizing new technology to identify key voters at community events and persuade them to cast their ballot early. And those 100 paid organizers I mentioned earlier? Every day, they’re in touch with field directors all across Virginia, so there’s a constant flow of communication about every single House and Senate race, allowing each district to support one another.

So, here’s where you come in. My fellow Democrats and I are already on the road bringing the Majority Project to life – campaigning with Democrats by helping them make calls to voters and walk through our neighborhoods to discuss what’s on the ballot this year and get out the vote. But to continue this crucial work, we need this grassroots movement to give us everything you’ve got.
