Biden’s War on Energy Is Crushing Businesses’ Bottom Lines

• As of noon on Sunday, the 99-year-old trucking giant Yellow, America’s third largest trucking company, officially suspended operations. Over 30,000 people, including over 20,000 Teamsters, will be looking for new jobs as the company files for bankruptcy.
• President Joe Biden promised during his campaign to wage war on fossil fuels, and he kept that promise. Literally on day one of his administration, Biden began throttling oil and natural gas infrastructure and domestic energy production.
• This means trucking companies like Yellow have been eating a lot of cost increases to try and maintain market share, and not just passing the higher costs on to customers.
• Yellow’s implosion offers a tangible lesson in how government mismanagement can have disastrous effects. The people promoting Bidenomics should be taking notes.

GOP Demands Probe Into $20 Million Planned Parenthood Obtained Through CARES Act

• Republican lawmakers are calling for an investigation into the $20 million that Planned Parenthood and its affiliates allegedly took from the Provider Relief Fund in the COVID-19-related CARES Act.
• Sen. James Lankford and Rep. Josh Brecheen, both R-Okla., spearheaded the effort in sending a letter Monday to the inspector general of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Christi Grimm.
• That letter, first obtained by The Daily Signal, requests that Grimm review the Provider Relief Fund applications submitted by the organization to ascertain whether the abortion giant provided “false or misleading information” to access the funding. It is signed by more than 30 other members of Congress.
• The Provider Relief Fund, established through Congress through the CARES Act, was designed to provide financial assistance to health care providers and health systems that were limited with in-person visits and were forced to cancel elective procedures to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
• Congress, the lawmakers stressed, purposefully crafted the CARES Act to block federal funding from paying for abortions.

• There’s no book like Game Changer: Our 50-Year Mission to Secure America’s Energy Independence (Forefront Books, 2023) by Harold Hamm. It is his first book and, in addition to providing biographical detail, it is an ode to America’s energy independence.
• With Democrats calling for more government regulations and renewable energy to deal with this summer’s hot weather, there’s no better time for the book’s publication.
• This is a particularly prescient topic now that the Biden administration is discouraging the use of America’s resources and is encouraging reliance on Chinese-made wind turbines, solar panels, and electric batteries for mandatory electric vehicles.
• Worse still, since Congress would not be able to pass such bills and get them signed into law, President Biden is doing an end-run around our elected representatives and putting policies in place through Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules.
