Our previous President was indicted for his efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Read details about the charges at the bottom of this e-mail.

Subversion of our Democracy

This is the third time Trump has been criminally indicted and probably the fourth shortly to come.

• Unprecedented in US history.

• We are a Nation of laws.

• We are a Nation that cherishes democracy.

• We support our Constitution.

• We are a Nation of diversity of opinions.

• But we aren’t a Nation of lies, dishonesty, or sedition.

What about Jack Bergman?
 

Rep. Jack Bergman was center stage in the Big Lie in Antrim County that started our Nation down this misguided path to overturn the 2020 election (Learn more with the links here and here). He believed it then and still does today. 

Doubling down on a lie isn’t strength; it’s dishonorable.

He has undying support for Trump and his Freedom Party colleagues in the House.

Is there enough evidence to convict our former President? The juries will decide.

Is there enough evidence not to vote for either of them? Surely.

Let all of us show the world we believe in our Democracy, rule of law, truth-telling and integrity.

Bergman may have dodged indictment, but the role he played propagating conspiracies against the United States, against the will of the voters, and in violation of the Constitution deserve consequences at the polls in 2024.
 

Help me defeat Bergman. Trust, honesty, and integrity are vital to our survival as a Nation.

It is a matter of national security!  Our moral and civic character is being tested, and we need to defend who we want to be as Americans. That is why I am running.

The Charges

• Conspiracy to defraud the United States

• Conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding

• Obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding

• Conspiracy against rights.

Special counsel stated
 

• “The defendant must be presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

• January 6 insurrection was "fueled by lies"...." Lies by the defendant, targeted at obstructing a bedrock function of the US government — the nation's process of collecting, counting and certifying the results of the presidential election."

The indictment, and any conviction, would not bar Trump from running. Our previous President has had a First Amendment right to lie about the election but not “unlawful means of discounting legitimate votes and subverting the election results.”
