John, Donald Trump has just been criminally charged for trying to overturn the 2020 election. [1]
No one is above the law – and today, Trump is finally facing charges for his relentless, disinformation-fueled attacks on our democracy and our freedom to vote.

Trump stands accused by a federal grand jury of his fellow Americans of serious crimes: including conspiracy to defraud the United States and to deprive the American people of our right to vote and have that vote counted.
And those charges are backed by pages of details from his months-long pressure campaign to overturn the results of an election that he lost in 2020. [2] This is now the third – and most serious – indictment against Donald Trump.
At the same time, we’re still following the cases in New York, where he’s been indicted for actions related to campaign-related hush money payments that Common Cause first blew the whistle on [3], and Florida, where he stashed classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago resort and tried to cover it up. [4]
Now, a federal grand jury has indicted Donald Trump for his months-long conspiracy to overturn the legitimate results of the 2020 presidential election, culminating in the deadly insurrection on January 6th, 2021.
These charges are unprecedented, but so are the events that led to them.
John, no one is above the law – especially not a disgraced, twice-impeached former president who would silence voters and tear down our democracy to stay in power. I hope you’ll join me in calling for accountability today.
