It’s official: a measure to repeal Ranked Choice Voting will be on the Minnetonka ballot this fall.
Let’s be clear, a small number of extreme anti-democracy RCV opponents are trying to overturn the will of the majority of voters who voted to adopt RCV just three years ago, and we will not let that happen.
Minnetonka RCV supporters showed up big to the city council meeting last night (and far outnumbered the opposition), and are ready to get to work on the Vote NO campaign, starting tonight.
We’ll be out at Night to Unite block parties in Minnetonka (along with the other RCV cities) tonight, reminding folks to rank their vote for city council, answering questions about RCV, and encouraging Minnetonka voters to Vote NO on the repeal RCV ballot question. And we will be door knocking and attending every and all community events to make sure voters know what is going on and that they Vote No when they head to the polls.
We will not let anti-democratic RCV opponents in Minnetonka prevail in overturning the will of the voters and turn back the clock on our local democracy. There is a national campaign to roll back RCV around the country, and we will defeat them here -- with your help!
