In 2022, we documented 1,225 hate and antigovernment extremist groups
across the United States. Extremist ideas that mobilize these groups
now operate more openly in the political mainstream. But the ascent of
the hard right is not inevitable. We can push back against this rising
authoritarianism and turn the tide.
At this crucial moment for our democracy, the SPLC is leading the
fight against white supremacists and their attempt to roll back the
decades of progress dedicated supporters like you have helped us make.
Working together, we can defeat the hate forces threatening our
nation's progress toward a more just, free, and equitable
