John,
Remember how worried we were when Congress agreed to increase federal spending by just 1%?
When you account for inflation, that means programs will actually have less funding for the next two years — and now, lawmakers are talking about even more cuts.
Devastatingly, child care and early learning made the list.
Kids across the U.S. could miss out on life-changing support — unless we fight to protect it.
John, if Congress goes through with these cuts, hundreds of thousands of families will face the consequences.
The latest proposal would prevent 80,000 children from accessing Head Start programs — ripping a critical safety net from kids in low-income communities. Without learning opportunities from birth to age 5, they’d start school at a big disadvantage.
Other programs would be eliminated entirely, like ones that improve and expand preschool and help parents afford child care while attending college.
So please, John, send a message: Budget cuts shouldn’t compromise kids’ futures.
Thanks for being a voice for kids,
