Pre-registration available for August clinics in Traverse City, Alpena
LANSING, Mich. ? The Michigan Department of State, along with partners in the public and private sectors, are hosting Road to Restoration driver?s license clinics in Traverse City and Alpena in August. This is the second year the program will help Northern Michigan residents who are now eligible to have their driver?s license restored due to changes in state law.
?
While walk-ins will be accepted, pre-registration is now available at Michigan.gov/R2R or by calling 211.
?
Expert staff and volunteer attorneys will meet one-on-one with visitors to the clinic, review their case, and advise on their next steps to get back safely behind the wheel. Staff will also assist in taking payment to clear outstanding fines when applicable and provide Secretary of State office services, including written driving tests, at the clinic.

?Michigan is a driving state ? it?s a genuine hardship to not have a valid driver?s license to get to work, take the kids to school, go grocery shopping, or to see the doctor.? said Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson. ?With the help of our local partners, our Road to Restoration clinics will return to Northern Michigan next week to help people in the area get back on the road and back to their lives.?
?
The clinics do not provide DUI/OWI expungement services and license reinstatement is not guaranteed.
