‘THERE SHOULD BE NO EXCUSE FOR ACCOUNTING ERRORS WITH A SEVEN-FIGURE PRICE TAG’ (Fox News)-- FIRST ON FOX: Senators J.D. Vance and Josh Hawley on Wednesday will introduce legislation aimed at preventing future "accounting errors" at the Department of Defense, after the Pentagon revealed it overvalued military equipment sent to Ukraine by more than $6 billion.

"This legislation will save American taxpayers from footing the bill for shoddy accounting at the Pentagon," Vance, R-Ohio, told Fox News Digital. "There should be no excuse for accounting errors with a seven-figure price tag," he said. "With this bill, Congress can ensure that the cost of our military aid is properly and consistently calculated."

‘IT’S COMMON SENSE: PEOPLE WHO BREAK OUR LAWS SHOULD NOT REAP THE BENEFITS OF PUBLIC BENEFITS INTENDED FOR LAWFUL CITIZENS’ (Breitbart) -- Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) and Rep. Josh Brecheen (R-OK) are proposing legislation that will ban illegal aliens from securing benefits under the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare, Breitbart News has exclusively learned.

Vance and Brecheen are filing the “No Obamacare for Illegal Aliens Act,” which would undo President Joe Biden’s move to allow illegal aliens enrolled in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program to obtain Obamacare plans.

“The American taxpayer should never be forced to cover the cost of healthcare for illegal immigrants,” Vance said in a written statement. “It’s common sense: people who break our laws should not reap the benefits of public programs intended for lawful citizens.”

‘UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD DOCTORS BE ALLOWED TO PERFORM THESE GRUESOME, IRREVERSIBLE OPERATIONS ON UNDERAGE CHILDREN’ (WFMJ) -- Ohio-based U.S. Senator, J.D. Vance has introduced legislation on Tuesday that would federally ban gender affirming care for minors.

If passed, doctors who perform gender affirming care on a minor could be charged with a Class C felony, and non-U.S. citizens who have performed gender affirming care on minors would be deemed ineligible to receive visas or admittance into the country.

Additionally, the legislation would cease taxpayer funding for such care including under government-sponsored healthcare plans of the Affordable Care Act and prohibit higher education institutions from providing instruction on this care.

"Under no circumstances should doctors be allowed to perform these gruesome, irreversible operations on underage children. With this legislation, we have an opportunity to save countless young Americans from a lifetime of suffering and regret," Senator Vance said.

‘THIS LEGISLATION BRINGS SOME SANITY TO OUR BROKEN IMMIGRATION SYSTEM’(Fox News) -- FIRST ON FOX: Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio is introducing legislation Thursday that would require immigrants with temporary visas to pay thousands of dollars before entering the U.S. – as part of the effort to crack down on visa overstays.

Vance’s office noted data that there are approximately 700,000 visa overstays a year, making it an often-overlooked but significant contribution to the illegal immigration problem the U.S. is tackling. In FY 2020, there were 684,499 overstays – about 1.48% of expected departures.

"America is a welcoming nation, but we are also a nation of laws," Vance said in a statement. "There are millions of people in this country who have abused our visa system and circumvented our legal immigration process. It is a slap in the face to the working-class Ohioans whose wages are suffering – I will not stand for it."

‘YOU AND YOUR INSTITUTIONS EXPRESSED OPEN HOSTILITY TO THE DECISION AND SEEMED TO ANNOUNCE AND INTENTION TO CIRCUMVENT IT’ (NBC News) -- Sen. JD Vance is warning liberal arts colleges and Ivy League schools not to disregard the Supreme Court's recent ruling striking down affirmative action policies in the admissions process.

In a letter Thursday to Ivy League schools, as well as Kenyon and Oberlin colleges in his home state, the Ohio Republican expressed concern about what he called their "openly defiant and potentially unlawful reaction to the Supreme Court’s landmark decision" last week.

"As you know, the Court has instructed you to honor the spirit, and not just the letter, of the ruling," he wrote, adding, "You and your institutions expressed open hostility to the decision and seemed to announce an intention to circumvent it."

‘THIS LEGISLATION IS SUPPOSED TO CAUSE A LOT OF MONEY TO FLOW INTO AMERICAN SEMICONDUCTOR MANUFACTURING’ (NBC4) -- Ohio Sens. JD Vance and Sherrod Brown are working to hit fast forward on semiconductor projects through legislation so companies like Intel, which is bringing two manufacturing plants to central Ohio at a cost of billions of dollars, can get construction done sooner rather than later.

Democrat Brown and Republican Vance agree that faster is better, and with Brown’s new bill to strengthen supply chains, lower costs, and improve national security, those projects like the one in Licking County can be finished faster.

“This is not rocket science,” Vance said. “The money has been appropriated. The law has been passed. We really need the Biden administration to do its job and to get that money out the door.”

‘FOR FAR TOO LONG, FEDERAL REGULATORS HAVE FOCUSED ON ADVANCING THE AGENDA OF THE FAR LEFT AT THE EXPENSE OF THEIR CORE MISSION’ (Breitbart) -- Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) introduced legislation on Thursday that would seek to protect vulnerable industries from overly burdensome banking regulators.

“For far too long, federal regulators have focused on advancing the agenda of the far left at the expense of their core mission,” Vance said in a written statement. “Meanwhile, regulatory bias and misconduct has gone unreported, as institutions have feared retribution. This legislation aims to correct that imbalance by ensuring the banking system is governed by ethical and apolitical oversight.”

‘REGIONAL AND COMMUNITY BANKS ALL OVER OHIO ARE SUFFERING FROM THE UNFAIR ADVANTAGE HELD BY THEIR LARGER COUNTERPARTS’ (Cleveland.com) -- Spurred by reports that the failure of Silicon Valley Bank has prompted depositors to flee small, regional banks for institutions considered “too big to fail,” U.S. Sen. JD Vance is introducing legislation that would provide unlimited federal deposit insurance to non-interest bearing accounts at smaller institutions.

Institutions likely to benefit from the legislation would include Key Bank in Cleveland, Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati, and Huntington Bank in Columbus, Vance’s office said.

“Regional and community banks all over Ohio are suffering from the unfair advantage held by their larger counterparts,” said a statement from Vance. “After the failures of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank, we saw depositors at smaller institutions moving their holdings to larger institutions, benefiting the coastal elite at the expense of the heartland. This expansion of deposit insurance is crucial to ensuring the stability of community and regional banks and the health of the wider U.S. banking system.”
