Dear Friend,
Earlier tonight I made an important announcement that I am battling cancer...but doing well, working hard and running for re-election in 2020.
I was diagnosed with stage four kidney cancer on February 15, 2019 and have been receiving immunotherapy treatment at the Mayo Clinic this past year.
After a very short time in office I was given the life changing news. After prayer and consultation with my wife and doctor, I committed to fighting as hard as I could. And that’s exactly what I’ve done this past year.
In the halls of Congress, I’ve fought a battle for our values, our livelihoods and our great country. And in the halls of the Mayo Clinic, I have fought a much more personal and private battle. On both fronts, I am thrilled to say we are winning.
I feel great and am looking forward to the campaign!
Earlier today in an interview with KAAL-TV news anchor Betsy Singer, my wife Jennifer and I discussed the diagnosis and my medical progress.
My physician, Dr. Lance C. Pagliaro, Oncology Specialist at the Mayo Clinic, issued the following statement:
“I am pleased to report that Mr. Hagedorn has responded well to immunotherapy, which has been key to his recovery. He is doing well.”
Please rest assured that I will continue to fight cancer and fight for America and the people of Minnesota’s First District.
