This is utterly outrageous,
John:

This weekend, GOP presidential candidate and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis
doubled-down on his white-washing of American history. In defense of
removing the topic of racism from state public school curriculum, he
claims slavery actually benefited Black people.

Yes, you read that right. This far-right elected official and candidate
for president is trying to put a positive spin on the horrors of chattel
SLAVERY, suggesting enslaved Africans received positive benefits from
being abducted, tortured, mutilated, sold, and forced to labor as the
property of enslavers.

Extremists like DeSantis aren’t even trying to hide it: this is white
supremacy—period.

[ [link removed] ]Summer is speaking up and fighting back against these racist attacks on
American history and the right-wing white-washing of our children’s
education. Can you chip in $5 or more today to let her know
you have her back ahead of today’s end-of-month fundraising deadline?

As long as Summer is in Congress, she will never stop calling out white
supremacy where she sees it and fighting for freedom and justice for ALL
people.
