What’s happening on Wet’suwet’en territory is appalling and illegal. Mass arrests at gunpoint, a media blackout, RCMP raids. Canada cannot say it will implement the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) then send in armed police to prevent hereditary chiefs from blocking a pipeline project they didn’t consent to in the first place.
