As a Navy “Nuke” operator, I was assigned to the USS Salt Lake City nuclear attack submarine. Serving on this boat was an incredible experience and education on the clandestine activities that help ensure the security of Western democracy. It’s exciting to see the work and mission of the “Silent Service” emerging into the mainstream.
As our technology advances and the escalating threat posed by China grows, particularly in the South China Sea and Pacific regions, our submarine fleet and ability to outpace everyone worldwide becomes increasingly critical to our national defense. This is essential to our national security, and we must protect it from foreign espionage.
That’s one of the reasons why I am running for office—to protect and support this great nation that I was proud to serve as a United States Navy “Nuke” Operator. The threats to our country—even deep in our homeland—are significant.
