Dear Friends,
On Thursday, August 3rd, at 6pm my office will be hosting a webinar to discuss programs that will help lower energy costs across Southwest Connecticut. Representatives from the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CTDEEP) will outline various federal and state programs that will help homeowners, working families and individuals save money.
I was proud to support two landmark bills last Congress that will lower energy costs and help transition to a cleaner, greener economy: the Inflation Reduction Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Together, these measures allocate $9 billion to equip hardworking families with the tools to protect their wallets and the planet by offering rebates and incentives for:
- Home appliance electrification and upgrades;
- Whole-home retrofits to improve energy efficiency;
- Residential clean energy systems;
- Weatherization assistance for houses.
These benefits will help the United States cut greenhouse gas emissions by 40 percent by 2030 and are estimated to save families an average of $1,000 each year in energy costs.
I would be glad to have you join me and our experts as we discuss affordable investments in a cleaner future and ways to save on your energy bills for years to come. Tune in and ask your questions on my Facebook page at 6pm on Thursday, August 3rd: https://www.facebook.com/RepJimHimes. You can learn more about the event here.
As always, please don’t hesitate to call my office if you need assistance with federal agencies: (203) 333-6600.
Sincerely,
Jim
