1. Breaking News: Americares Responds to Philippines Typhoon

On July 26 at 3:10 a.m. local time, Typhoon Doksuri made landfall in the Philippines with winds reaching 140 miles per hour. This typhoon has brought with it life-threatening flooding, landslides and storm surges up to 10 feet high. Over 40,000 people have been displaced.

Americares Philippines deployed an emergency response team to deliver medicines and supplies and meet with local officials to coordinate the disaster response. 4. Thank you to our Backpack Drive Volunteers!

Volunteers joined the Americares Leadership Council at our headquarters on July 21 to assemble backpacks full of school supplies to benefit Americares Free Clinics. Children of patient families at the four clinics in Connecticut can start their school year off with confidence, knowing that they have the supplies they need to succeed.
