Megan McLean makes Game and Fish history as the first woman superintendent of a hatchery
 TEN SLEEP ? Megan McLean?s goal was to become a hatchery superintendent since she chose a career in fish culture. McLean accomplished that goal and also made history with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. McLean was promoted to superintendent at the Ten Sleep Fish Hatchery in the spring and took over those duties in mid-July. She is the first woman to be in charge of a Game and Fish-operated hatchery or rearing station.
Join Game and Fish and partners for a bear spray giveaway and safety training
 The Wyoming Game and Fish Department and partners are hosting four bear safety trainings and bear spray giveaways throughout the state in August. The free events will be taking place in Jackson, Pinedale, Lander and Cody.?You can learn more about the events by visiting the Safari Club International Foundation website.
Youth invited to Medicine Lodge Kids Outdoor Day Aug. 26
 CODY ??Youth from across the Big Horn Basin are invited to the upcoming Medicine Lodge Kids Outdoor Day ? an exciting and fun filled day of outdoor activities for kids Aug. 26 at Medicine Lodge State Archaeological Site in Hyattville. This is a great opportunity for kids to get outside, have fun and learn a new outdoor skill. Children ages 8-10 will cast fishing poles, shoot air rifles, practice archery, and learn basic camping and birding skills. Kids ages 11-12 will shoot .22 rifles, pan for gold, throw atlatls, dig for artifacts, dissect owl pellets and learn about macroinvertebrates. Ages 13 and over will shoot muzzleloaders, practice on a ropes course, cast fly rods and learn about large carnivore awareness and outdoor survival. Pre-registration is required and those that register by Aug. 7 will receive a free t-shirt and water bottle.
