The U.S. recently hit a new record of the most mass killings in a six-month span since we started keeping track in 2006.
There were 28 mass killings between January and June of 2023, which beat the previous highest record of 27 set last year. These harrowing numbers are in addition to the over 400 mass shootings on record so far in 2023.
Our country is stuck in a constant cycle of tragedies caused by guns, mass grief, no change, and repeat.
Enough is enough. It’s time to act.
Republican AGs are working overtime to loosen gun restrictions. They’re in the pockets of groups like the NRA, and blood is on their hands.
We need more Democratic AGs who will work to strengthen our gun safety laws and make sure illegal guns don’t fall into the wrong hands. We need elected officials who will work to keep us safe, not make us afraid that we’ll be next.
