John —
Last week, Governor Youngkin’s Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) released the final version of their 2023 anti-trans model policy despite strong opposition from the countless parents, students, and educators who submitted public comments in opposition. With many K-12 schools set to begin a new school year in a few weeks, we know many of you have questions about what these new policies mean and how you can fight back.
Equality Virginia and our partners are hosting virtual informational sessions this week covering Governor Youngkin and the VDOE's newly released, harmful 2023 model policies on the treatment of transgender and nonbinary students in public schools across the Commonwealth.
We’re coming to you via two free webinars: Trans Resilience in the Classroom: VDOE Model Policies, one for parents and students and a separate session for educators and school staff.
Join us to get the facts about how these policies may impact trans and nonbinary students, how you can support them, and what you can do to fight back. Please use the links below to RSVP.
