Friends,
(Warning: this email has absolutely nothing to do with politics :))
Before there was Napa Valley…..
Before Prohibition….
Ohio's Lake Erie Islands and shoreline were the Nation’s leading producer of wine.
Who knew? Not me, until I started serving on the board of Ohio’s State Parks Foundation.
To celebrate that history, we at the Foundation are hosting an event as we prepare for an historic renovation of the George Lonz “mansion.” Lonz was an early pioneer in the wine industry.
The event is on Saturday, August 19 (after August 8, so hopefully a brief moment to rest), and all funds raised will go in support of Middle Bass State Park (one of Ohio’s islands off the shore of Lake Erie) and Ohio’s State Parks Foundation.
Middle Bass has a great “vibe,” and an interesting history including being a site on the Underground Railroad, wine production, and bootlegging. Plus, it’s beautiful, surrounded by our Great Lake Erie.
I've attached the invitation below. Click here or on the invitation below to reserve your tickets, which are available for $75 pp / $125 per couple. (Sponsorships are also available.)
Wine, water, history, music, and a great cause — and a great way to close out the summer.
Sure hope you can come, and feel free to invite others.
Email me with any questions.
