As a first-time candidate for Congress, I have to admit that my least favorite part about running for office is the fundraising.

I don't believe money should play such an outsized role in who wins and loses. But regardless of how I feel about it, a critical piece of winning depends on raising awareness about my candidacy. Doing that takes resources.

Thanks to you, we have done an incredible job funding our efforts so far, and I’m proud to say that we have done it without a cent from corporate PACs.

Midnight tonight marks our July fundraising deadline, and we still need to raise about another $5,400 in grassroots contributions. Will you pitch in now to help us get to where we need to be?

Now that they are in power, extremists in the GOP demonstrate why it is critical to take back the House. Between freezing military funding to score ‘culture war’ points, to their near-daily attempts to restrict reproductive rights in this country, they have proven both out-of-touch and unfit to lead.

Here’s the truth: It will be very difficult for Democrats to win back the House without keeping CA-47 blue. We can’t lose ground here, which is why it’s important to ensure our budget is where it needs to be – month in and month out.

Every dollar we raise goes directly to work building a winning campaign and keeping this seat blue. It would mean the world to me if you could make a contribution now to keep us on track.
