Part of Brooklyn Young Democrat's mission is to make our organization accessible and affordable for our members and for young Democrats throughout Brooklyn.

That's why our fundraiser this Saturday at Kent Ale House starts at $30 for Young Professionals and $25 for Students. With that ticket minimum, you will get an afternoon of community building for young people and a year of membership for the only Young Democrats group recognized by the Young Democrats of America in Brooklyn.

You can only imagine how surprised we were to see our name used last week to promote the Brooklyn Democratic Party's gala this evening, where the starting price for a ticket is a whopping $5000.

Lets be clear: $5000 is an inaccessible price for most, if not all, young Democrats and Democrats in general. Plus, the Brooklyn Democratic Party has a knack for not spending the money they raise at these high dollar galas on competitive races for Brooklyn Democrats.

The REAL Brooklyn Young Democrats would never ask you to spend $5000 on a ticket to our fundraiser. Fighting for Democracy in Brooklyn should not require you to spend a month of your salary.

THIS SATURDAY August 5th, Brooklyn Young Democrats is celebrating the summer and gearing up for the General Election at Kent Ale House.

Starting at $30 a ticket, you can gather with a community of Young Democrats and our friends and supporters in government and politics. Best of all, your contribution will go towards fighting for Democrats in hard fought races against Republicans in the November general election.
