Kevin McCarthy and his extreme right-wing caucus have introduced a bill to CUT support for American farmers and rural communities. That’s right, the GOP wants to take money out of the pockets of the farmers and ranchers responsible for our food systems.
This bill would target funding for rural electricity, agriculture research, and climate solutions. By cutting these funds, the GOP is showing their hand and telling Americans that they don’t care about the future of the country.
It is vitally important that farmers are able to find new, innovative ways to produce crops in the era of climate change, as this summer of extreme heat has shown.
