It’s debate night again — but this one is really important for us, Friend Let me tell you why:

So far, 4 out of the 6 candidates who have qualified for tonight’s debate are either still pushing policies that have failed for decades, policies that don’t actually help immigrants, or quite simply haven’t put out an immigration plan at all. This is simply unacceptable. In a time when our communities are in the fight for their lives, we need candidates who will do more than reject Trump! We need candidates who will commit to stopping deportations within the first 100 days, if elected.

Here’s a quick summary of where each of these 4 candidates, who will be on the stage tonight, stands on our communities:

Joe Biden:

Would continue Obama’s immigration policies.
Won’t commit to ending deportations in the first 100 days.

Pete Buttigieg:

Won’t commit to repealing decades-long immigration laws that keep immigrants in jails in the first place
Has not committed to ending the criminalization of migration.

Michael Bloomberg:

Responsible for dehumanizing policies like surveillance and “stop and frisk” while he was Mayor of New York City to target and racially profile Black and brown people, including immigrants.

Amy Klobuchar:

Senator Klobuchar doesn’t even have an immigration plan, clearly showing we are not a priority for her.

This year we won’t settle for less,Friend

We demand a president who cares about our immigrant communities. We demand an immigration system that is grounded in the shared vision of helping people without hurting people.
