News from Representative Allred

Dear John,

It’s been the honor of my lifetime to serve the district where I was born and raised and I am proud of the work we’ve done in Congress to deliver for Texans. I work each day to ensure every North Texan can chase their version of the American dream. As your Congressman, I value transparency and hold myself accountable to you, so I am delivering my midyear progress report.

Inside you can find updates on legislation to lower health care and prescription drug costs, create local jobs, lower everyday costs and revitalize our infrastructure and to protect our rights and freedoms. I’ve also included up-to-date numbers on my work for North Texans.

First half of 2023 at a glance:
  • Over $1.46 million in federal benefits and money returned to North Texans

  • 758 cases closed helping North Texans with federal agencies
As your Congressman, I can often step in to escalate your case with a federal agency like the IRS or Social Security. Over the past six months, my team of constituent advocates helped recover $1.46 million in money tied up by the federal government like stalled tax refunds, backlogged Medicare and VA claims and more!

  • Responded to more than 14,850 constituent letters
  • Met with over 2,000 Texans
I’ve traveled across our district in the past six months meeting with local leaders, business owners and workers, seniors, parents, students, and ordinary Texans, to gather feedback on the issues important to our community.

  • Nearly $140 million to DFW to upgrade terminals and DART to replace old buses

  • Secured $4 million to create a transportation research center at Prairie View A&M
Last Congress, we passed sweeping legislation like the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Inflation Reduction Act and CHIPS and Science Act to lower costs, grow the economy and invest in the American people. I’m especially proud to have delivered funds from those laws to our community over the past six months.

From getting folks the federal benefits they are owed to making sure investments from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law make it to Texas – these past six months have been a productive start to my third term in Congress. I will keep working to lower costs, protect our rights and create jobs.

It’s an honor to serve North Texas, where I was born and raised.

Sincerely,
