Friends, I’m going to be really honest with you right now. I know that may be rare to find in your inbox these days, so brace yourself:
I know it can sound a little absurd on the surface to be asking you to make a $5 donation in July, more than a year before the election, and especially when I come from enough privilege to be able to help support my own campaign.
(And yes - I have and will continue to take on as much budget responsibility as I can in order to make this campaign possible.)
But the truth is that no candidate - not even the billionaires we’ve seen run in recent years - can simply snap their fingers and create a successful campaign.
At the end of the day, transferring funds isn’t what makes that happen.
Building real, meaningful connections and a community of support - among as large a group of people as possible - is what matters. Empowering people to have a stake in their government is what matters. Bringing people together around shared values and big, mutual goals is what matters.
I need your support. If I'm serious about what I do - and trust me, I am - then I need to keep building this community and keep making sure every one of you is a part of this work in whatever way you can be.
