John, I have some updates from inside the campaign with 54 days until early voting begins Friday, Sept. 22 and 99 days to go until Election Day this Nov. 7.
First: I'm thrilled our state Senate campaign is now fully staffed for the general election. We haven't had a field team of this size since we changed what was possible in American politics together in 2017 by out-organizing my predecessor in the House of Delegates to win that campaign. That first campaign was lightning in a bottle and the fact that we actually have an organization similar to what we had then is really promising for us to win this fall.
Second: Our team is working hand-in-hand with the campaign teams for our Democratic nominees in HD-21 and HD-22, two of the most competitive seats in all of Virginia. We're all operating out of the same office in Manassas as we know the key to keeping our Senate majority and winning back our House of Delegates majority is to sweep western Prince William County.
Third: Our volunteers have done just incredible work this month as they've knocked thousands of door knocks, made thousands more phone calls to voters, and have prepared mountains of postcards for us to send out to voters reminding them to vote. A bunch of our local folks even showed up to our photo and video shoots, so I'm incredibly grateful for their support. |
