Hi friend, I’m Axel.
I’m a DACA recipient, and I joined United We Dream Action’s fight for permanent protections because my future and my family’s is on the line right now.
While the program has given me many opportunities, it’s never been enough — especially for my mixed status family.
When I moved to the U.S. with my parents from Honduras in 2005, DACA didn’t exist.
DACA left out my parents, and most recently, left out one of my little sisters when her application, along with thousands of others, were never processed after Trump tried to end the program and a federal judge blocked new applications from being processed.
I’ve seen firsthand through my own experiences and now my sister’s experiences how access to opportunities is impacted simply by being undocumented.
Citizenship is the only path forward, friend, it’s as simple as that.
I traveled to D.C. along with hundreds of other immigrant youth last year to take action and fight for our future. Now, I’m asking you to stand up for our immigrant communities.
