White-tailed deer and wild turkeys together in an open field

Outdoor enthusiasts, landowners, and casual wildlife observers from across the state are all encouraged to take part in two annual community science projects that begin August 1. Maine Deer Spy and the Wild Turkey August Production Survey gather data from volunteers to help our biologists document and understand Maine's white-tailed deer and wild turkey populations. Participating is easy and anyone can contribute!
