Honestly, I’ve had it, John.
Tommy Tuberville professes to understand or know a lot about the military.
In my experience, he does not.
And he does not seem to understand what holding up hundreds of senior military promotions does to our military.
We have the strongest, most capable armed forces in the world — bar none.
But when you hold up promotions for admirals and generals, there is a cascading effect. People need to move into the jobs beneath them. It has impacts on military families. It has impacts on readiness, and our ability to face emerging threats.
We can’t afford to let this go on any longer than it already has.
Now, I don’t know what Tuberville is going to do.
But I do know that it’ll be a whole lot more difficult for him to keep this going if he starts getting pressure from the rest of the GOP.
So far, they’re AWOL. But my colleagues and I just sent a letter to Mitch McConnell and the rest of the Senate GOP to step up to the plate and pressure Tuberville to drop his holds.
I need your help with that.
Thank you,
Mark
