The ninth presidential debate will take place in Las Vegas tonight. Five
of the candidates have earned their way onto tonight’s stage. One has not.

Michael Bloomberg is a billionaire who bought his way onto the debate
stage and the DNC changed the qualification rules to allow him to do so.
Our democracy only works if everyone is represented, and that won’t happen
if wealth and connections eclipse candidates who have invested in building
broad, diverse grassroots movements.

I want to live in an America where no one can buy a seat on the
Presidential debate stage. That’s why I am asking today:

us fight for a political system that doesn’t cater to the wealthy and well
connected?

The DNC didn’t change the rules when experienced candidates of color were
at risk of being left off the debate stage, so why would they change them
now?

Big money has corrupted our political system and we must do everything we
can to fight back, and build a system that ensures those closest to the
pain are closest to the power.
