We’re on the other side of our Atlanta excursion and just not ready to admit that summer is almost over (unless you live in Arizona- then it’s understandable). Season changes be damned, we’re back into the abortion swing of things! Programs Manager Kristin is celebrating Ohio abortion victories and gearing up for taking it to the finish line, while Programs Director Max is making sure any and everyone can be trained on self-managing abortion care. Every day is abortion abortion abortion in this department and we wouldn’t change a damn thing! Except for the news cycle; we’d probably change a lot of things there.

WE REALLY RUIN EVERYTHING, YOU KNOW THAT?
We’re pretty sure that if you have to sneak wildly unpopular provisions into a bill, you’re probably doing something really shitty; call us old-fashioned, I guess! House GOP members have no shame, of course, and are using the FDA and Department of Agriculture spending bill to shoehorn in restrictions on mifepristone, which would reverse the agency’s decision to allow the drug to be dispensed through the mail and sold in retail pharmacies. Abortion Access Front joined over a hundred other abortion rights groups led by Physicians for Reproductive Health and Planned Parenthood Federation of America, to sign onto a letter demanding the mifepristone rider be stripped from the bill and sent to the Bad Place where it fucking belongs.

ILLINOIS: CAN WE BORROW YOUR AG FOR, LIKE, EVER?
Fear not- there actually ARE some elected officials out there doing good, like Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul, who penned an op-ed making it explicitly clear that Illinois will NOT share private patient information with other states looking to prosecute their citizens. We love an AG with a backbone who offers a succinct ‘FUCK YOU’ to the rest of those anti-abortion ghouls trying to hop into your medical record DMs.

Sure, providers regularly get death threats and have their clinics damaged, but some black spray paint on the side of a building warrants a FACE charge; ya know, the Act which was passed because of abortion providers literally being murdered. We're getting ready to turn Lizz's birthday celebrations around after the worst party ever with Operation Save America in Atlanta, and we hope you'll be part of that!
