John,
Looking back at the past few months, I can’t help but worry for my children and what the future holds for them – especially if they decide to stay in Idaho when they grow up.
Supreme Court justices are proudly accepting bribes from far-right billionaires. Life-threatening, record-breaking temperatures are hitting states harder than ever before. Republicans in Congress have spent more time investigating Hunter Biden’s laptop and UFO sightings than pursuing any plans to improve the lives of working families like yours and mine.
But Idaho needs help, too.
Anti-democracy Republicans have held the Idaho state legislature hostage for years. Already, these extremists succeeded in efforts to restrict which Idahoans are allowed to vote and passed the harshest abortion ban in the nation.
By disbanding the Maternal Mortality Review Committee this month, they also succeeded in making it more difficult to track the post-Dobbs spike in pregnancy-related deaths.
The only way we can save Idahoans from the grips of Trump-like GOP leadership is for Congress to pass federal legislation that protects us and our fellow Americans in other Red states.
Here at home, it starts with helping me end my opponent Mike Simpson’s quarter-century tenure in Congress. Your contribution today will make it happen: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/davidroth
This election cycle, candidates across the country are rejecting corporate PACs and the outdated, immoral systems that leaders like Simpson depend on.
Simpson’s votes in Congress reflect the extremism of Idaho’s right-wing legislature at every turn. He sided against lowering food costs, improving our infrastructure, and protecting our schools from mass shootings – while thanking the NRA for their support, I might add.
After nearly 25 years in power, he is more in tune with the wishes of billionaires and corporations than the urgent needs of working class Idahoans and our families.
John, I’ve been on the road all month, connecting directly with voters and their families. I know the problems facing Idahoans, and I’ve felt the relief and hope that comes over people when they know that, finally, someone is listening and wants to help.
As we move even closer to election year, it’s important to keep up the momentum, meet more people, and expand our resources to reach voters whose jobs and responsibilities make it harder to meet in person.
It’s true what they say: any amount helps. I’m counting on your help, and I promise you can count on mine when I take your concerns with me to Congress. If you can, please donate and spread the word so I can make August our best month yet.
Grateful for your support today and always,
David Roth
