# [#]John,

The climate crisis is happening right now.

Extreme heat waves, pollution from wildfires, devastating floods – all have done damage here in Connecticut in recent weeks, affecting everyone from local farmers whose crops were ruined by floods to children with asthma struggling to breathe the smoke-filled air.

To make matters worse, news broke this week that the Gulf Stream ocean current could weaken and even collapse if we don’t slow carbon emissions. I can’t sugar coat it, reaching a “climate tipping point” like this would spell disastrous consequences for the entire globe.

I know that it can be overwhelming and even frightening to discuss the widespread impacts of climate change. But if we hope to address this issue, we have to truly understand how high the stakes are, and we have to take ACTION!

I’m fighting for urgent solutions to tackle the climate crisis, so that we can avoid these disastrous consequences. John, pitch in $ now to support my important mission→ [[link removed]]

Here’s the good news. Democrats led the passage of the largest investment in addressing climate change in our nation’s history last year. In the short time since, this legislation has already begun turbocharging our green economy!

I’m also continuing to lead the fight for a Green New Deal and a tax on pollution. It’s past time we made polluters pay their fair share, and put climate at the center of our policymaking.

These efforts are critical in our fight to address the climate crisis, but we can’t hope to succeed if Republicans still control the House after 2024. Will you chip in $ now to help us win back the majority we need to invest in transformative climate action? [[link removed]]

Thanks for your support,

John
