My mom Lucy let me email you today to pawntificate about the BARK Act , which she just introduced in Congress as a co-sponsor. The bill already has many of my mom’s Republican and Democrat colleagues on board – some true bi-paw-tisan support. (Yeah I know, too many “paw” puns. Bad dog Harley!)

Here are the treats and deets on the bill so you can sniff it out: The Bring Animals Relief and Kibble (BARK) Act will encourage pet suppliers to donate food and supplies to animal shelters. My mom told the press that, “the bill will eliminate barriers and reduce waste while directing surplus pet food to shelters in need to nurture America’s animals as they await adoption to their forever homes.”

We simply must pass the BARK act - our furry friends everywhere are going hungry, stuck in shelters, and waiting for their forever owners.

And for another proof point: dogs are more popular than members of Congress. Don’t believe me? Look up the approval ratings on “dogs” and “Congress,” or just go for a walk with Lucy and me – you’ll see who gets more attention out on the street talking to voters (and sniffing them).
