Okay, despite the subject line, this email is not directly about Ron DeSantis. But his campaign is an example of why we’re diligently working to make all of our budget goals, and why we need supporters like you, JOhn, to chip in by tomorrow’s end-of-month deadline.

Just two months after launching, DeSantis’s presidential campaign — what was supposed to be a powerful juggernaut that could credibly threaten Donald Trump for the GOP nomination, — recently announced that they’re laying off a third of their staff.

JOhn, this is what happens when a campaign doesn’t responsibly allocate resources and runs out of grassroots support too soon. (It also doesn’t help when your campaign is focused too relentlessly on attacking the LGBTQ community and stifling public education, but that’s a separate issue…)

The truth is, it’s never too early to be properly pacing out one’s fundraising for the next election. We’ve been aiming to do that all throughout 2023 — but this month has so far been slower than expected.

Will you pitch in to help us turn things around in the next two days and raise $3,791 more? Jennifer is coming off her closest election yet for VA-10, and we need to hit all of our goals this summer to prepare for the inevitable GOP attacks and remind voters of her strong record on job creation, improving transit, and fighting for our fundamental rights.
